I just picked up an Asteroids Deluxe... this is my second. My first I sold to a fellow KLOVian and have since regretted selling her. This one is in pretty damn good condition. The seller claims it's sat for 4 years... prior to that he said it was in his garage "for years". I dunno what to think being he (A) thought the game was Asteroids... didn't know anything about "Deluxe" and (B) He had no clue about the see-thru half-silvered mirror or the Asteroid field scene behind it. Who knows...

What I do know is that it has a total of 22,000 and change ticks ... 11,000 per coin slot. I do know it works (except the black light)... and I do know that I pulled $8.50 in quarters out of her as well as about $5.00 "worth" of tokens. I also know that the inside was pretty damn clean.

I also know it has this writing on the bottom. I am not sure what it means, but it's there. Also, unfortunately, there is no serial tag on the back of the machine. Any way to determine the serial number inside (PS, PCB, etc?).

The cabinet, transformer brick and AR board should all have the same serial number if they are original.

It has a SAMPLE base panel cut by Mac on 5/16 as part of Job # 7252 and panels modeled after it should be 23.75" with no over variance and an under variance of .015. Then it ended it's life as a sample and became the base panel of your machine. That's my interpretation anyway.

Nice! I picked one up at auction last december for $125. When I got it it was drawing all of the asteroids on top of one another. Kind of weird. I re-seated all the chips and touched up a lot of solder points and it fixed the problem.

Frizz, you are OUT OF CONTROL!! Two games this weekend. You are gonna have to thin the herd or your 1 bay Garcade is gonna become a 2 bay Garcade permanently.

Nice looking game. I would definitely add one to my herd if it popped up locally. Send some of the Idaho games on over to Oregon....

Well... I am now looking to sell the Asteroids. I much prefer AD...

$350 for a KLOVian...

:)

That AD looks really nice ! Yeah , AD rules and its a cheaper game too .

yeah i gotta get me another vector.. my old battlezone pwned me but im in that mood again.. vectors are a pain but man that gameplay and just they way they look is so cool and unique...

I'm sorry, I've been dying to say this for a while. This game just LOOKS badass. The cabinet and the side art just blow me away... can't wait to see one in person.

Not really much to post about this bad boy... it's probably the "cleanest" cab I've ever bought. I don't mean "clean" as in not dusty... but "clean" as in fewest problems both electronically and cosmetically. I spent a couple hours wiping her down, vacuuming her out, etc... a little magic eraser here and there and she looks awesome! The blacklight needed a tube replacement, the marquee lamp needed a starter. I flipped a dip switch to change her over to freeplay mode and that's just about it!

I DO need to put it on it's back and install new nylon feet. The front will be "plug n play" but the back are missing the feet "plate". I think I have a couple around somewhere. But other than that, this bad boy is good to go...

EDIT: Oh yeah... I forgot... I am on the fence about a new CPO. This on is in about 7/10 condition with no major tears...so I may keep it for a while. A new CPO would also dictate new buttons and these are wore in nicely...

EDIT #2: I also considered picking up the anti-glare kit. Has anyone here played on both versions? Preference?

I love my AD. I have the anti-glare kit and I feel it is a must. Not just for the glare part, but for the deep bass that comes with it. Sounds like a G is out at the stop sign bustin' some Tupac in his royal purple Scion. Awesome machine, one I can truly say is never leaving the Outer Limits.

Look at Phet's picture and compare it to Frizz's, very obvious!

Look at Phets AD then mine... his AD shows he bezel angled DOWNWARD whereas mine is angled more UPWARD. The Anti-Glare kit included a slightly larger bezel and a bracket that enabled you to install the bezel facing more downward. As a result, the speaker goes from being outside the bezel to being inside the bezel after the installation of the kit. When it's inside the bezel it adds more bass due to being enclosed.

So mine doesn't have it because the speaker is on the outside , but man it still has crazy bass !
