I sent my AD main board and the AR I board from an Asteroids Deluxe I bought to Alex at Elektron Forge. He fixed the main board and then told me that the AR I that I had sent him was actually from an Asteroids and would cause the sounds to distort. He said he could do a modification to the AR I so that the sounds would be OK on AD. So I paid him to do it.
I get the boards back and the game plays great but all the sounds are distored.
If Alex acually made the modifications to the AR I, what would/could be causing the audio disortion? I've lowered the main volume with no joy.
If he did not make the modifications, how would I know the difference?
Thrust and fire sounds are just OK not badly disorted.
All asteroids explosions are disorted badly.
The game has a constant, low "hum" sound that modulates a bit with the "player start" flashing on the screen (I have it in free play mode).
Any ideas?
Thanks!
