I am missing the color asteroid field overlay on my asteroids deluxe. Not sure where I can get one and where it would go. I have a blue overlay on the cardboard, but not sure where this other overlay would go.

Also the light bar has one light in fornt for the marquee and one in the back. is this to make the overlay show?

Thanks

The rear bulb is a 'white' black light - yes it highlights the cardboard bezel pop. I don't have the part number for the BL handy, but it has been discussed recently.

Any pictures of what you have?

The only color overlay is on the monitor, just a blue gel that causes the screen objects to show up blue instead of black and white like the original Asteroids.
If you don't have the blue gel you may be able to get large enough one from a hobby/crafts supply place, I had been thinking of getting a different color one just to see if I like the effect.
The blacklight bulb in the back illuminates (in blacklight) the background and the floating pieces in the back of the display of the cab. Mine was out when I got it so I picked up and 18 inch blacklight bulb from Walmart, works pretty well even though it's not a "white" blacklight bulb.

photo supply stores, theatrical supply stores, and party & decoration stores area all places that often sell large sheets of gel that can be used to replace damaged or missing gel in Asteroids Deluxes. the theater supply store may be your best bet, especially if you can get a specific number for the replacement gel or can take a sample with you for them to match.

Thanks all. I guess my real question whas what are the parts that make the floating asteroid fild show. It sounds like it is the backlight and there is some other piece that has the art word. Just trying to get an idea of what to look for. I was looking into the cabinet but not up. under the marguee. So maybe that is where the graphic is coming from and the back light somehow puts that image onto the mirror or something like that. Does that sound correct? if so I will look around tonight I know the backlight is not working so that may be why I don't see it.

The blue overlay sits on the monitor, the cardboard Asteroids backdrop sits in the back, behind the mirror which has the monitor projected/reflected on it.

I bought one for my Battlezone. They are as advertised. That said, it's a thinner film than the original.
