Finally got around to cleaning the mirror and blue film in the AD I picked up a little while back, and noticed that the monitor looked a bit off in the frame...the front was significantly lower than the rear....closer inspection revealed this:

Anyone dealt with something like this before? The one on the front left is snapped, and the right is bent way outta shape. I'm glad the right is at least giving it some support, but I'm worried about the monitor now, knowing that it's gotta be stressing things.

Any thoughts?

bump...anyone ever seen anything like this, or able to say if these brackets can be repaired/replaced somehow?

Should be able to quick spot weld that no issue of course take tube out which is a main but any welding shop will do it for around 25 bucks or less. Just ask them to square it up for you if the frames bent

Remove the monitor from the machine and remove the tube from the frame (keep the yoke with the tube). You're going to want to fabricate a new tab for the side that is broken, and straighten the other tab (possibly reinforce the other tab while you're at it). It would just be a matter of an L-shaped piece of steel with a hole in one end, welded in place on top of the broken piece of the tab that is still there.

I don't know about welding on steel that is so close to a picture tube, but that is the best way to fix it; though I suppose you could try mechanical fasteners if there is room for them (e.g., rivets, screws) or even JB Weld; but you're going to have to fabricate a new tab for that broken side either way.
