I removed the two vector ROMs and all was good. Multikit worked like a charm. After installing, I see that step 9 suggested to remove the 4 CPU ROMs native to the board. I figured, why not? I enjoy squeezing as much efficiency as possible out of every electrical appliance. So I removed the ROMs, re-attached the braze kit, then... nothing. Oblivion. Am I missing something? Why am I not getting a picture now?

The Braze Kit brings it's own code in an EEPROM, so the original CPU-EPROMs are not in use anymore.
That's why they can be removed.

Reinsert the EPROMs and check, if the board works.

A possibility is you messed around with the cpu. maybe put it in wrong or stored it in something temporarily that killed it. or you made a mistake when you plugged in the kit and bent or broke a pin

One of the pins on the braze daughter board was slightly bent when I inserted it back in. Everything works fine now, but I'm also seeing the spot killer light on. Why might that be?

do not understand! if everything works fine that means you have an image. spot killer means you do not have a valid enough signal to have the monitor on so it turns off to safety and light the light. If you have a good image on the screen and have that light on then you have a failure in the monitor. I know enough to futz through it in front of me but not enough about the monitor to tell you remotely with any certainty. call @andrewb for more in depth troubleshooting
