So i purchased a proper replacement for the balck light. I pulled out the lighting frame work to install the bulb. this has it so that two wires go on each side one wire to each pole, like i imagine it is suppose to be. i plugged it in and i got nothign on turn up other then both ends of the bulb having the faint glow as if it wants to turn on but doesn't. so in figured maybe i had a lose connection on one of the bulb poles and accidently knocked of one wire on just one side and it lit up. i proceeded to put the wire back on the bulb and it made it go back to where it wasn;t on and the neds were slightly glowing. any help?

You need a new starter. Its a small metal or plastic can about 3/4 inch diameter and 1 1/2 inches long. Turn it to release it and take it to the store to match the power rating.

or buy a 10 dollar replacment complete package at HD or lowes.. may be $20

but saves alot time

Not for that light fixture. It's a back-to-back light fixture configuration that would be a major pain to re-wire a light fixture to.

Much easier to replace a $2 starter. Click the broken one out, head to the local hardware store, click the new one in. Done.

Yep i agree. I see nothing easy about mounting a new fixture when you can pop a new bulb and starter in.
