Just finished painting my Asteroids CPO - I repainted each portion - colors aren't exactly the same as original but close enough for me. There was some pretty nasty rust. My question: I want to spray some clear matte on it but am afraid something might bubble... should I just leave it alone?

If you used oil base paint, or auto paint, you can use automotive clear coat right over it. I did this to my Asteroids mini CP after touch up...

If you used craft paints, I would not use auto clear and not sure what to recommend.

Looks like a good job though!

Can you post up the techniques you used and any tips or advice you learned during the process? I have thought about doing this on my LL and Asteroids CPs.

I didn't use stencils... I masked. It took about 3 days (a couple hours a day) - I would mask a panel - spray it - pull the tape and go to the next one. After all of the panels had been painted I masked each one of them and sprayed the whole cp with the black. I have no life so this way worked for me - it took awhile but it was worth it!

Wow, that's a lot of work. Looks really good.
