Asteroids control panel stencil?

My cutter can handle the letters that small with a specific brand/type of stencil mask but it's still going to be a difficult go to get lined up just so.

Alignment didn't seem to be a priority for the factory as my colors are definitely off. I don't mind the tedious stencil work if you think it could work and are willing to make a couple of these. I want one to prove out with a test panel ... make sure the slightly rough black finish doesn't make jagged edges, etc.

I also have a spare Asteroids CP that this could be tested on.

Oh come now Riki... if "now shipping" means 8-11 months until you get your stuff, just imagine what "project underway" means.

LOL

Ill send my file over to PROK and let him try it out
its color seperatled and set up with traps/bleeds like the orginial silkscreened file
and its ready for cutting.

Based on a file I have already I did this real quick:

Wasn't THAT hard, but I definitely don't want to make lots of them.

so, what are you planning to do prok? As mentioned before, I'm interested in doing a test run if that is helpful.

I'm going to add them to the website tonight, will be one of those things that will take a patient and experienced painter though. I'd highly recommend using an airbrush on this piece.

and your willing to ship to uk?

i wouldnt mind one for my asteroids, its got a prepd cp just no overlay, was holding out till something popped up rather than rush and buy the art overlay.
:)

No problems shipping to europe, I do that from time to time.

Reviving a stagnant thread.....

I just had my CP sandblasted and was wondering if anyone has used prOk's stencil? I have been going to body shops around town here seeing if anyone can do it at a fair price, and still reproduce the speckled black paint of the original. I'm curious of the paint used for the colors, and if there is a ridge next to each little square or if it's completely flush like the screened original?

I don't think anyone has recreated the original speckled paint. Have you considered one of the new silk screened Asteroids panels their almost ready to reproduce?

I've found a local shop that will replicate the speckled paint job, but we found some rust bubbles under some of them. Can someone confirm that the speckles were original from the factory, or if it was just a case of age on my panel?

Got my CP back, the stencil was less than ideal. I'd probably foot the bill for a silkscreen next time, although that is a hard service to come by in my area.)

The spatter pattern was replicated extremely well, but the text came out sub-par. Pic attached.
