Hey KLOVers, I've got an Asteroids I just picked up for $200, with an Owl Eye coin door in great condition, and painted control panel! I think I scored. But, the pcb plays with "wavy" lines on the test screen, which of course affect game play. It makes the images look like they kind of fold over themselves as they pass lines on the screen during play.

Here's some pics. Anyone know where to look?

Also, I'm getting a lot of trails from the images, is that normal? I haven't even began drinking for the evening yet. :)

If you can't fix it, road.runner here on this site can fix them.

He fixed mine and it's been flawless since!

Thanks for the suggestions guys.

I already ordered a replacement AD561J from arcadechips for $18, and I'll replace the X-axis one. If that doesn't fix it, I'll try the other suggestions offered here.

By the way, I'm sure some of you know that Jameco sells AD561J for $121 or something ridiculous like that. I contacted them thru e-mail and let them know about the insane price difference, and the guy actually apologized for it, and "wasn't aware" he could get them that cheap.

But, I really hope he doesn't buy out arcadechips and sell them all for $121. If he does that, we might have to spread the word to stay away from his site.

Sorry if that happens guys, wasn't my goal in contacting him.

Thanks again!

I'm sure arcadechips won't let that happen - I would not let someone scoop up all of my inventory on a hard to find part and limit them to a reasonable number.

I would say it's about a 7. It was in this guys barn for 10 years collecting dust. When I cleaned all the dust off I was impressed by how clean it was. The pcb in it was toast. I haven't fixed it yet. I did put a AD in it and it's playing nice.

Mark..

Sorry for the thread hi jack.
