I picked up a untested 19V2000 for 1 of the asteroids projects I'm working on. I have a working asteroid deluxe with a working G05-802 monitor in it I plugged the untested 19V2000 into the deluxe cabinet & am getting an orange glow at the back of the crt neck.
1) the connector is comatable. Is the pinout on the molex connector the same for asteroids/asteroids deluxe?

2) is the molex pinout the same for both the G05-802 and the 19V2000?

I'm 99% sure the answer is yes to the first 2 questions, but want to confirm. Here's the real questions now....

3) are the deflector boards in the g05 & 19V interchangable?

4) Is there any danger of me fying the good board by putting it into the non working 19V2000 to test the tube & eliminate the possibility of the problem being a high voltage issue.

5) Is there any danger of me fying anything on my working g05 in the deluxe, by placing the untested board in the working g05?

Thanks,
Dave

The connectors for the G05-802 and the 19V2000 are completely compatible - Just make sure your Asteroids is not wired for a G05-801.

I have a 19V2000 deflection board in my G05-802 monitor in my Asteroids cabinet and it works fine. There may be some minor technical differences between the boards, but they should be interchangeable.

So 1, 2 & 3, yes; 4 & 5 - probably no danger as long as the voltages on the input connector are fine.

thanks for the reply. I pulled the deflection board & already know I have to do the wire mod at r101 (open) no continuity. Found 2 blown fuses.
At least I'll fix this & try it on the known good crt in the deluxe.
