I am the proud owner of an Asteroids Deluxe CABARET! That's the good. The bad...well I can't get the game to fire up.
It is complete and looks like it was recently serviced, the main board looks perfect and I have tons of AR's, so that no big deal.
When I used the original power brick, I saw that fuse "F3" was blown, replaced it and then I would get the red led on the main board but when I took a meter to the AR, I couldn't get any readings on at least 1 or 2 on the voltage test leads. So I have lots of Atari power bricks, mostly from color vector games and I can see that the 15 pin molex connectors have a different set of pins, pins 8 & 13 are FEMALE on the cabaret and the bricks I have do not match.
Can I hack together a working brick or do I HAVE to have a "real" AD cabaret brick?
Can I fix the original brick somehow? It just looks real complicated because the 15 pin molex is directly connected to the transformer block and I'm not sure how to move stuff from a good brick to the bad brick. Or can I hack the 15 pin molex or will the voltages/pinout be different in a B&W verses a color vector brick?
I have read a few threads on this but I can't find a definitive answer.
Thanks in advance!

Repair what you have!

The maintenance items on the brick are: bridge rectifier, fuse block, fuses, and big blue cap. The odds of there being anything wrong with the transformer are about the same as you winning the lottery.

A blown F3 points to the possibility of a bad bridge rectifier. You didn't specify which voltages were good and which were bad, so I can't speculate further. You should also inspect the condition of the wiring under the brick, and the pins in the various Molex connectors.

If I were working on this game, I'd order and install the following from Bob Roberts:
Atari AC Power Supply Repair Kit + 8' Line Cord, $28.00
(new fuses, fuse block, bridge rectifier, AC cord, and big blue cap)
Atari A/R or A/R II-01 Repair Kit (Caps+Q2/3+R29), $9.00
Asteroids Deluxe PCB Cap Kit, $6.00
cap & transistor kit for your monitor, $11.00
22/44 Molex edge connector, $5.50

That's the stuff that I used when I restored MY Asteroids Deluxe cabaret.
