So I have a Mr and Mrs Pacman that was missing one of the caps.

They have a Pacman stenciled on them and I have been unable to locate a replacement for the missing cap.

I ordered a pair of translucent yellow caps from Pinball Resource in the hopes I can create a replacement.

My thought is to use the exisiting one and somehow get that graphic on the two new blanks and then put them on the pin.

What I would like is for all of you, who are so inclined, to share your expertise on the best way to do this.

Here's a picture of the remaining original cap and the new, naked cap.

Thanks!
-Allen

anythings possible with the use of computers and printers....make your own stencil! Take some thin clear sheet of mylar like stuff (I forget the name) but it's has no sticky side, anyways just trace it and cut it out and spray the cap with your stencil. That pacman dont look hard to trace, this is something you can have confidence in doing, I'am sure. Oh and dont forget to get some Novus #2, because your PF looks dirty also. You may want some Mr.Clean magic eraser for those ball swirl marks before you apply the Novus. I have not seen this game in person and would like to know if can post up more photo's of this machine?

I have the same problem... those caps are tough to find.

I was planning to scan the original and print it on translucent adhesive backed "paper" and stick it on.

Haven't tried it yet... it will be a while before I restore my Mr & Mrs Pac.

That is what I would do, but the light will probably bleed through. If you use a laser printer, you could run it through a few times to build up the layers, or print off 2 and overlay them.

Do the stencil thing. Have prOk or Rich cut you a round one that fits in the center of the plain yellow bumper cap and use Krylon fusion paint in 3-4 thin coats.

I thought about that too but wondered if there were some lines that are too small.

Might be worth screening a bunch of these.

Oh that playfield is nasty... no doubt. I plan to do as much restoration on it as I can... right after I hone my skills on my Charlie's Angels. :)

I live in an apartment, in Minnesota, so I have to wait on the winter to go away before I get into serious playfield rework.

I will post a link with some pics. Thanks for asking.

True... but screening them on the caps would be "original". Pinball people tend to be into that kind of thing.

I would be happy either way honestly.

My preference would be the caps directly. They were cheap (at Pinball Resource). I would consider either however.

I had thought about printing something on a translucent sheet of sticky something or other.

I had also thought about cutting a stencil.

Maybe I'll try both and see which works better... if I have to buy more caps, well.. at least they're cheap.

;-)
