Anyone have any tips on how to properly align Armor Attack with it's overlay? I'm having one helluva time getting it right...

Maybe PM Blinddog? He brings his to the Seattle Show each year

Here's what I have done for both AA and SC. A bit tedious, but worked for me:

1. Remove the overlay
2. Put the PCB into test mode
3. Adjust pots on the monitor PCB to get the test image drawing as well as possible (it won't be perfect)
4. Put the PCB back in game mode and replace the overlay
5. Start the game and check for alignment. Adjust as necessary (having a helper for this step is great, but not required).

You did put it into test, right? it's a lot easier that way..

1. adjust the X&Y size adjustment pots on the monitor

2. to center it you use the 2 small metal tabs on the back of the yoke.

that's it.

This pic will be large, but I did this a couple days ago and have a pic for some reason, so here you go:

AWESOME! This is the help I needed... I had no idea about the center tabs... I was getting frustrated that I could adjust size but not "location"...

THANKS!

PS: I assume test mode must be enabled via DIP as I don't see a test switch on my coindoor (or in it) anywhere.

All b/w vector monitors have them; they're usually not necessary to mess with though. They are needed to align the monitor to the backdrop in Battlezone, though most people are not aware they are even there.

...and to think i installed and X and Y pot to my Battlezone PCB to adjust.
