Locally near me is an Arkanoid for $80. Game is non-working. I don't know anything about it, other than it appears to be a breakout clone? Is this game worth trying to fix?

yes arkanoid is a great game.

FYI if you need a working arkanoid board I have a working bootleg to sell.

There was bar top cabinet of Arkanoid, and that's the only dedicated version. The overwhelming odds are that it's a standard arcade cabinet, and it will be a conversion of another game. While it could have been anything, the chances are that it's a Midway or Atari cabinet. If you can post a picture, we can tell you what it was originally. It may be worth restoring, and for $80, you really can't go wrong. :)

$80 is good if the cabinet isn't beat to hell... You like breakout in space? Arkanoid is a really fun game. Best of luck!

Where are you so I can go buy it?! I understand budgets but games under $100 are almost a no brainer if the game is intact. And who doesn't like arkanoid?
