Is there more than one harness configuration for Arkanoid boards? Bootlegs, etc... I have a game that comes up with an IO error, but when you put the board in another Arkanoid, it works fine.

could just be a harness problem... bad pin in the connector, etc..
I am not sure about diffences in pinouts though. I don't think this would be the problem.

It turned out to be the coin door wires were crossed. And I put in a good switcher to be safe. Arkanoids are such "rigged" games. Spaghetti nightmares! LOL
Yeah Arkanoids are usually pretty "rigged up" games since most of them were conversions done by average joe. I have had many boards and the pinouts are all the same, even on the bootlegs. If you have any other questions about Arkanoid stuff, let me know.
Sorry to resurrect an old thread. I was just given a bootleg arkanoid board but I can't figure out the pinout. It's not one of the "tayto" boards. There is no company logo on the main screen, and the copyright says "Game Corporation 1986". I was wondering if anyone had a pinout for this board as I've figured out the video and power and the start button and coin line. I can't find the right, left, fire, or the 2nd line for the speaker (only the + is labeled). Any help would be greatly appreciated.
