Arkanoid vs Arkanoid 2 Revenge of Doh differences...
I have Arkanoid 2 Revenge of Doh. I'm trying to determine the differences between the two games (mainly the power up pills) but have come across some inaccuracies, and I'm hoping someone with a Doh machine or someone who's familiar with both can help me out.
Here are the physical descriptions/differences....
In Arkanoid, the pills (based on the game sticker) are:
Speed Down (Orange pill w/ yellow "S")
Catch (Green pill w/ yellow "C")
Expand (Blue pill w/ yellow "E")
Disruption (Light Blue pill w/ yellow "D")
Laser (Dark Red pill w/ yellow "L")
Break (Pink pill w/ yellow "B")
Player Extend (Grey pill w/ light blue "P")
In Arkanoid 2 Revenge of Doh the pills (based on their OG names & My guesses) are:
Speed Down (Red pill w/ yellow "S") - changed from Orange in the OG
Catch (Green pill w/ yellow "C") - Same as OG
Expand (Blue pill w/ yellow "E") - Same as OG
Disruption (Light Blue Pill w/ yellow "D") - Same as OG
Laser (Dark Red w/ yellow "L") - Same as OG
Break (Lavender pill w/ yellow "B") - changed from Pink in the OG
Player Extend (Purple w/ Light Blue "P") - changed from Grey in the OG
Then there's a few in Doh that I don't know the names of:
________ (I'm guessing "Reducer?") Smaller black pill with a yellow "R"... it shrinks the Vaus
________ Black pill with a shadowing green pill outline, black pill has a yellow "T" on it. When you move the Vaus, it makes a couple "ghost" Vaus' lagging behind it.
________ (I'm guessing "Twins or Two?") Dark blue pill with yellow "T"... gives you two Vaus' side by side.
________ Grey pill w/ yellow "M" or "N", I can't tell. Splits the ball into 3 separate regenerating balls... basically what the "Disruptor" did on the first Arkanoid. "Disruptor" on Doh creates non-regenerating 10+ balls.
________ Purple pill with yellow "M"... this one (I think) turns the ball red and it just flies through every block it hits.
________ Plain pill, flashing red & orange. This one gives you various super weapons... not sure how it determines what you get, but it's like a amplified version of a given pill... like a super laser, disruptor with the red balls...
The Wiki listing for Arkanoid 2 Revenge of Doh says:
"Revenge of Doh differs from its predecessor with the introduction of "Warp Gates". Upon completion of a level or when the Break ('B') pill is caught, two gates appear at the bottom of the play area, on either side. The player can choose to go through either one of the gates - the choice will affect which version of the next level is provided. The fire-button is only used when the Laser ('L') or Catch ('C') pill is caught."
This would seem incorrect because looking at CPO/Art/Info for the OG Arkanoid, it lists the "B" Break pill...
Can anyone give me the real names (and "official" descriptions of what they do) of these mystery pills in Arkanoid 2 Revenge of Doh? I've been searching around and haven't found answers in the online manual, wikipedia, KLOV listings, etc. It looks like the Bezel for the game has them listed on the left side, but there's no clear pics of them online.
Thanks!
