Arkanoid: Revenge of Doh "I÷0 Error"... why?

So I bought an Arkanoid:ROD pcb from another member on this forum.
It was tested before shipping and is thought to be working fine when shipped.
I was planning on using it to build a game for a co-worker.
I have a single JAMMA cabinet that has worked fine for every other PCB I have tried in it.
When this Arkanoid pcb arrived I tried to fire it up in this JAMMA cabinet.
I got the result shown below.
It will display this error for 5 seconds or so and then appears to reset somehow, for a couple of seconds, and then displays the same error. It will do this in a never ending cycle as long as power is applied.

I have cleaned the edge connector with a big eraser and I have tried putting it into "Test" mode (DIP Switch Bank A - dip 3 "on") with no change in behavior.

Any ideas?

I/O error implies that there's an issue with it processing data, I would assume. was this boardset one of those multi-board types? you might want to try reseating any connections you see. see if this helps any.

otherwise, I don't know. you can hit up google for it too. I am not entirely sure if it runs off the same hardware as Arkanoid, but you can try a few searches for that. always go for terms that are the most common and try to match up hardware types whenever you can.

good luck!

No... it's not a multi.
It's a dedicated Taito Arkanoid: Revenge of Doh JAMMA pcb. Straight outta the late 80s.
I did Google but found nada.
Read the manual too... nada.
Makes me sad.
Thanks for the suggestions though.
Anyone seen this before... troubleshooting ideas?

ah, that hints more at it being a wiring issue as opposed to a board one at least.

maybe something stupid like coin switches being wired for NC instead of NO or whatever.

do you have another cab to test it in by chance?

EagleTG - Awesome find. Yes, thanks for that.

Mecha187 - Yes... I think it's most likely a cabinet wiring issue. I do NOT have another JAMMA but I DO have a "Konami harness to JAMMA pcb" adaptor that I might try. I'll have to bring it into the house and warm it up first (getting cold here in Minnesota and the Scramble cocktail is in the "3-season" porch --- this is the 4th season ;-)

I noticed last night that the Neo-Geo 100 -1 can't add credits to Player 2 when plugged into this cabinet either.

Looks like it's time to do some wire tracing.

Thanks to both of you for taking the time to answer.
