Arkanoid Cocktail Monitor Help

the large coil is your horizontal width coil. it stretches or shrinks the image to fit the horizontal part of the screen. in other words long ways.

the pot with the gunk on it is probably your B+ pot.
unfortunately i am not familiar with that chassis to know where the test point is.
hope someone else that knows will chim in.

but cap it first and see where it goes.

some chassis don't need to have their B+ adjusted after a cap kit they have a fixed B+ due to a fixed regulator setup. but some do like the sanyo, go7, and some sharp models.

if you don't get the cap kit first. after cleaning it i would work on the harness.
so you get that step done wile waiting. it cant hurt.

also just a side note most nano's run on 100volt iso transformers so don't plug it into a 120v non iso'ed source.

Looks like this is hooked up to the 100V ISO... look right to you? Just wanted to make sure.. I know it says 120V on it but the wires are hooked up to 100V... Make sense?

See picture

Can anyone help me identify the B+ test?

*Update*

Monitor chassis has been pulled and I plan on cleaning it tonight and capping it tomorrow. This is my first one so I have been taking it a little slow and doing some practicing on an old broken board. Ive been struggling with getting a small amount of solder to stay on the circuit... maybe Im using too much.

Attached is the layout of the caps used on the Nanao KB240331C chassis for anyone searching through this thread.

My first cap kit is complete and the machine works great!

Cap kit fixed both the waves I was seeing as well as the monitor shutting off!

I'll post new pictures soon... Thanks to Buffett for the assistance!!!!!

glad everything worked the first time.

fantastic feeling isn't it.

good luck on your next rebuild.

Does this game have an original Taito board in it or is it a bootleg? I built a arkanoid cocktail table and realized the board doesn't have a cocktail mode or I don't know how to put it in cocktail mode. I have a bootleg board that does cocktail mode but I dont' want to rewire the cab. Any insight?

Matt

from what i know i have had several arkanoid boards and it is a dip setting. but i don't rember witch one. when i got them i had to change it when i tested it in an up rite cab so the image would non flip.

maby get witch way his are set and see if it will do it on yours.
