So I have an arkanoid 2 with spinner and fire buttons. I have questions:

1. Can I simply swap in an arkanoid board? I don't really care for revenge.

2. The spinner works ok but feels janky. Can these be rebuilt? Or are they simply cheaper to buy some sort of knock off replacement?

3. For what it's worth I don't know why but I prefer the feel of original spinners. The arkanoid one always felt so solid...

1.The original arkanoid is not jamma so you need get an adapter to convert to jamma.

2.That spinner probably needs to be dissembled/clean and re-greased.

3. I have a couple of different version of that spinner but the early ones feel right to me.

Thank you for the reply. I suspected it wasn't jamma due to the age. Looks like I need to find an arkanoid board and adapter!

You DO KNOW why you prefer the feel of the original and you state it in your post...

And you are correct. It's not the same without the original spinner.

Try cleaning the gears of the spinner with alcohol.

It's funny, I am ok with emulation with some games. But certain ones MUST have the original controls. Tempest, lunar lander, gyruss (and to a lesser degree time pilot) robotron, (and I'm sure many others) are uniquely tied to the control panel. Paperboy...I could go on.
