I have a Battlezone with some issues I'm trying to diagnose. It has an ARII-03, but according to info I found on Electronforge the BZ should have an ARII-02.

1) Are the ARII-02 and ARII-03 interchangeable? I want to make sure I won't be screwing anything up by switching between the two types.

2) I was going to switch out a working ARII-02 from my Centipede (or Tempest) into the BZ and see if the ARII is the issue. Good idea, right?

3) I was also thinking of putting the questionable ARII-03 from my BZ into my Centipede and see if it works. Is this a bad idea? I'm concerned that I could possibly hurt my Centi boards if the ARII-03 from the BZ is bad, right?

Thanks,
- Dave

Yes they are interchangeable. The only difference is the -5V and +12V on the -03 have a higher current limit.

Should be ok.

First check the voltages on the questionable AR-II. If any are off by more than 10% then don't try it. Instead send it to me for a rebuild and re-test. :)

Can I just get a ARII-02 rebuild kit from Bob Roberts to rebuild my ARII-03 and will that effectively turn it into an -02?
I ask because my BZ came with an ARII-03, but I'd rather have the "correct" current/specs of an ARII-02 in my BZ.
OR should I just not worry about it and get an ARII-03 rebuild kit?
OR does it not matter since Bob's ARII repair kits are the same for -02 to -06?
