I got this last night and was wondering what my other options are for it as far as upgrades to the hard drive etc. I know that it is Jamma but wanted to ask, being that it uses a hard drive how would I go about running another Jamma shooter if I choose to do so? Is the showcase cabinet a dedicated cabinet for this machine? I have never seen one of these and have only seen it as a conversion or in the dedicated cabinet covered in art. I am going to have a total blast getting this into my gameroom. Somehow I need to figure out how to get the top monitor housing off of it's pedestal without destroying it. lol

I mean those guns are pretty standard on older shooters. It shouldn't be that big of a deal to throw some other boards in it. Big thing to find out is what resolution the monitor is in it. I want to say many of the older sega games that would use those guns were setup for a medium res screen but I could be wrong.

I'm pretty sure that's a kit in a generic Dynamo showcase. It's just a standard JAMMA board, but I don't think there are any "upgrades" that you can do to the actual board. Lots of other boards will swap in though, and you can set up a Multi-JAMMA. I've got mine set up on a Multi-JAMMA with Area 51 Site 4 and Area 51/Maximum Force. And the monitor is standard resolution.

A51S4 is a wierd jamma setup - its basically a jamma interface to a normal PC motherboard. Not a whole lot you can change or do with that actual board other than putting a different jamma board in there.

Be really careful if you mess with voltages...some chips on that board do not like high voltages!

Site 4 is a standard res JAMMA shooter that uses 45 cal guns. You can pop just about any other JAMMA shooter PCB in there just by swapping the JAMMA and gun connectors.

Can I come over and watch you try to get this game down into the basement......:D

Hahaha. Sure. I am still trying to figure something out in my head. I'm feeling pretty confident that I may be able to pull it off. The issue is,the monitor housing is all one big pedestal. Allowing the Monitor to be detached from it's base would have made a whole lot more sense.

I was thinking of a way to add A51S4 to my area51/MF game. My game has a computer motherboard with a hard drive. If A51S4 is on a hard drive also, then I should be able to install a hard drive selector in it to switch between the two games. Does yours have hard drives too? How is your setup?

I dont know about the white Showcase cabs but on the black ones the head comes off the pedestal. I had to take about 15 games down some stairs at a guys house a long time ago. On the Showcase(s) (39" mind you) I took the monitor out and then took the monitor enclosure off of the base to get it all downstairs.
