Hey, I have an area 51 board I am testing and all i get is a black screen. I've tested an area 51 board on the same set up and it works fine. Any idea why my board will not boot and only displays a black screen.

I get PMR LED lit, as well as D14-D17 Lights flashing. Hard drive seems to spin and the fan on the heat sink spins. Any ideas what it could be would be greatly appreciated.

I've got the same exact issue..

EDIT: I spoke to soon.. checked the +5v and it was coming in at around 4.6v. I upp'd it to 5.3v and voilà! 8)

you should read the PSU guide in my signature. I made it for this purpose.

dirt on the edge connector will block power flow from the power supply to the components on the boards. while 5.3V isn't the end of the universe, you're entering dangerous territory. the higher you have to set your power supply to get desired voltage will result in an increase in heat on your JAMMA edge. certain hardware makes can burn up from this condition.

Site 4 may be one of those, given it's got an old AT motherboard strapped to a JAMMA interface board. I outlined in the guide how to clean the edge with an eraser, you can alternatively use deoxit or equivalent contact cleaner. might even get better results from it.

you'll have to turn your power supply voltage down afterwards since it will operate more efficiently.
