Man... i dunno guys. I have has a duo for quite awhile now but i just picked up what appears to be a dedicated area 51:site 4 in the mini "showcase" type (two piece) cab... It seems to be alot more fun than my duo is. And graphics seem better too.

Anybody else have a preference? Im really thinking about selling my duo.

I personally find the duo to be more fun (I play it more often at least), but I ended up running both in my cab because they're both good games IMO.

I would love to hear more about how you did that setup!!

Because i have both games now.. and a spare working maximum force boardset... SO theoretically i could put my duo and site 4 togther in the badass cabinet then put my max force into my old area 51 z back cab and sell that baby off.. hmm...

Yeah, that's what I'd do!

The combo is easy... I just used a 2 port multi-JAMMA (like one of these cheap ones: http://www.jammaboards.com/store/2-in-1-multijamma-switcher-pcb-gbs-8118-gbs-8118.html ). This got both boards working, though no gun support. For the guns, I just looked at the pinout from the manual and connected the trigger and opto sensor pins between the boards. I wasn't sure if it was gonna work by simply connecting them (without any sort of isolation), but it worked with no problems, so I left it.

Then physically I mounted it all to the tray of my Site 4 cab with threaded rod to support the boards at the correct height for the JAMMA connectors on the switcher.

Site 4 is actually SD, because CF doesn't work w/ it.

I haven't played Max Force myself, but between Area 51 and Site 4. Site 4 gets more use. Training missions seemed to be more fun before getting to the actual game.

That switcher would be ideal. I hate having to pull the game out, twist and turn the second game board in because there's no play in the jamma connector, and then remember what side each gun was on, was no walk in the park.

do you have any pictures of how you wired the guns to both boards? I would love to add site four to my area 51/maximum force combo

I can't get to it right now, but if you look at the pic, you'll see the regular gun connector on Site 4, and 3 wires going to each gun on Area 51/Maximum Force. Those three wires are tapped into the gun harness ground, trigger, and opto (and ground isn't really necessary, since they already share a ground).

You should check the manual to verify, but I believe pin 2 is the trigger, 3 is GND, and 4 is the opto. So, if you just connect pins 2 and 4 between the two boards for both guns, it should work.

Yeah... I meant GB... when it doesn't work I'll be looking for a SD card drive... any suggestions?
