Thinking bout buying the game in "non working" condition. "The board has no video when powered up." Asked if it was tested with the Hard drive plugged in (it was). Asked about the LED's on the board if they were lighting up, to see if it was getting power and the response I got was - "All the lights come up but the rom board light reboots every 10 sec."

Is this something that could be easily fixed? I don't really want to blow money on something that I have no real experience with. I have the single board Area 51 already but wanted the dual board for the Area 51/Max force combo.

Time frame is short on the auction so any help quickly would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Fred

See if they can unplug the hard drive, and try to see if it boots up. There's a chance that the hard drive is bad, but causing problems with the game booting. With it unplugged, it'll try to boot and then give a error, but at least you'll see some video.

Also there's a test switch on the pcb, if they flip that then turn it on, it should boot into a test mode that will start analyzing the pcb and tell if there's any errors that it finds. They can do that with the hard drive unplugged, as well.

Well, tested with/without hard drive and the switch turned on. No video came up on the screen apparently. Guess i'll have to wait for another deal to swing my way.

Thanks for the help!

Yeah, that board must have some issues. Jamma stuff is really hard to get somebody to repair, largely because of the surface mount stuff but also because a lot of games dont' have full schematics available.
