Have a Area 51 Site 4 dedicated I just bought a single board upgrade kit so I can play Maximum Force as well and the kit was only for regular Area 51.

Turns out the kit is not for Area 51 Site 4(which I have).

Bummer.....

I also have a Maximum Force pcb I could use the kit on . Any body know if a a max8mum Force board will work in a Site 4 cab plug and play?

Are you saying you bought the wrong CF upgrade kit from arcadeservices for your Site 4 single board?

Site 4 doesn't totally officially effectively support CF for some strange reason, so there's no kit for that.

it was probably just a mistake

Oh, yeah. Not site 4, only regular A51 / Max Force. Sorry.
either that or they thought Site 4 could run those games. lol

different architectures entirely. I think Area 51 and Site 4 both support stereo sound but the cabinets only had single speakers. totally random aside.

I just went to ArcadeServices site, and they don't list a Site 4 / Max Force upgrade. Only A51 / Max Force. Of course, I'm only just assuming that the kit '78 bought was from there, or from their ebay listings...

Apparently they don't make an upgrade for site 4. Thinking about just running a jammer switcher. And then I will have slight four on one and regular period fifty one max force on the other

There's a gun switcher board available to tack on your switcher as well. https://www.ebay.com/itm/256290928534 Which works for my set up. @RiddledTV has an accessory switcher that can handle 4 wires, so as long as your guns don't have feedback, you might just be able to use that switcher instead as an option too.

I've not had luck with my Area 51 Site 4 boards. I bought an original Area 51 board, and the seller sent me a site 4 board by mistake. It was too late by the time I realized it was the wrong board to return it. It resets every few minutes. Then I figured, well, I have a Site 4, why not get a working one. Bought another, but the sound has a hum or something... There are so many threads about that game not working. I mention all this because if your game works, might as well use it and play it, because I think it's difficult to find an intact, already working Site 4 board.

Enjoy your set up!

Check out the link in my signature on hooking up a switcher to a light gun cabinet.

I was running Area 51 Site 4 on a small 8gb SSD with a SATA -> IDE adapter PCB and that worked fine. I used chdman to write the MAME chd file to the drive and it worked no problem.

But it sounds like you were getting something else expecting it to work on your board.
