If you died tomorrow, who would get your games? I thought about it last night as I watched my daughter play Ms. Pac. That game is technically her's already, but if I keeled over right now, I don't know who in our family might try to swindle it out from under her.

I better get to work on that!

Many states allow you to give away items of personal property by a memorandum (which can be changed how ever often you like) as long as the memorandum (1) is referenced in your will (2) describes the property with reasonable specificity, and (3) is signed by you. You'd have to check your state's law to see if you have such a law and what the exact requirements are in your state. These laws were created to prevent people from having to go to a lawyer and change a will over items of specific personal property.

Mine aren't actually in my will but it's a given that they'd be gone before the dirt settles so my wife and kids both have been instructed to call two people if such an event happens. Both contacts are actually KLOV members.

To keep things fair, if something happens to her she knows her dog is gone.

Probably not a bad Idea to give my wife a link to KLOV for sale section and put together a Price list of what the games are worth, if anything ever happened to me she could sell them and be RICH for about a month...

I was discussing this very thing with my wife a couple of days ago. I told her that I'd prefer she contact Dokert about identifying and selling off the parts. She'd prefer to deal with another guy, nothing against Dave, she just thinks this other guy is not a dork like the rest of the collectors she has met. Of course, the fact that he is not a dork and doesn't have very much knowledge about games other than playing them is why I don't think he will be very much help...

LOL We're ALL dorks in this hobby!!! Some of us just hide it better than others!

no, but i have instructed them in which empty cabinet to bury me in.

I am going out in a funeral pyre, Return of the Jedi style.

My games will all be hooked to a generator and turned on. My grieving (well, I hope she is grieving, anyway) widow will put a credit in each one, but not hit start. After a moment of silence, my body will be placed on top of the games, a generous amount of gasoline will be applied, and a match stuck. My spirit will ascend to the heavens accompanied by my own Heavenly Arcade.

That, or my next of kin post a "$50 each, you haul it, cash only" CL ad.

funny this was brought up... i actually contacted an orphange/foster home type place, explained about leaving the facility my games if i were to pass on,and get this, i hope your sitting.... the only way they would accept them was if i left enough money to have them moved from my house to the facility!

Would it be correct in saying it would be existential to be sent out funeral pyre style ala Return of the Jedi, being burned atop your Return of the Jedi. Kindling may be just what that games cut out for if you think about it.

Or maybe you could just lay 10 cabs with Electrohome G08 vectors in them. Lay the corpse atop, and flip them all on. You should have a self lighting fire erupt within 10 or 15 minutes. Give the mourners something to to do since they could take bets about when your going to go up.
