Are you "living the arcade dream" ?

I'm living the arcade dream just due to the fact that as of last year we were finally able to find a house where I can have my own room dedicated to my arcade. For years I either kept some over at my parents house or my late grandfathers house. Glad to have everything in one room. I don't have a large collection but i'm definitely thankful to have my favorites.

Not any more. :(

My dream was working/owning an arcade, and watching customers come in and having a good time. Laughing, playing, and forgetting that out the front door was the 'real world', be it school, work, hospital, or loneliness.

I loved that, and while I personally owned a game, I kept it at the arcade I was working at at the time, because I wanted folks to play it.

Now, I have a handful of games at home, but I *very* rarely get visitors, because I'm in the backwoods. Seriously, you can hear banjos getting to my place. I also don't have a finished basement, nor *enough* games to be able to throw an actual party.

I know, I'm strange. :D

I try to remind myself that the games are a luxury and that I am lucky to have them. When I was a kid (and as recently as 15 years ago) I never dreamed it possible to have my own arcade games. I try to remember that innocence when I look at them.

I find it relaxing not only playing but just looking at my games. I have most of my must haves. Sure there are a few I wouldn't mind but none are my essentials.
