Has anyone else heard or seen these console systems called vectrex, it had its own monitor that came with it and controls and games, are these worth anything? I know my buddy would probably give me his still int he box along with every game he has still in the box

Yeah, they tend to go for around $100 loose, and if they have a box, can reach a few hundred easily...

I want one, badly... they are cool

I forgot he had one, I thought it was the gayest thing ever but of course I was to caught up in N64 when he showed it to me

I paid $140 shipped for mine with about a dozen games and an extra controller, which was a pretty good price. Sold one of the games for over $100 and another 3 or 4 for about another $100 total, so its already paid for itself :D

I have a review of it in my YouTube channel BTW.

here is a quick estimate..

vectrex is about $75-$100 loose. boxed $200+.

games range $5-$50 loose(gel screens +50%), $25-$150 boxed.

extra controller $25-$50

3d imager $400-$700 boxxed $750+

If you plan on flipping, I am looking for 2 or 3 boxed games.

vectrex best home system ever. Im a vector lover Get the multi cart. I think there is 72 games on mine IIRC

He was much cooler than you, you just didn't realize it at the time.

I've got the 3d imager. Will I get $400 if I list it on ebay? I would love to sell it. Are there specialized forums I should list it on? I would like to sell the whole system (vectrex, two controllers, games, and 3d imager) but ebay has me scared.
Thanks.

Yes, Vectrex systems are very sought after. I've been wanting to get one for the past year or so, but am not willing to drop $150 + for a system with a few games.

If it works and you have 1 of the color wheels for the 3d imager(preferably both. The 2nd color wheel is harder to find), Pretty sure you would get to $400. The boxed ones that sold on ebay went for $511, $500, $430. Thats less than they sold in the past.. Prices must be down on vectrex.. But a broken 3d imager sold for $242.50.. So I would bet $300+ for working. Add $$$ if you have the carts, and their boxes and the 2nd color wheel.

Personally, I would list the 2 seperate. pull the 3d stuff away from the rest. Reason being that the serious collector is the one looking for the 3d stuff. The average collector will be happy with the rest.

If your worried about how much it will sell for on ebay, I would say sell it buy it now. That way you can control the price.

as to where to sell it, not sure what would be best. You could try atariage or digital press. But ebay would probably be best. As for selling the system, I think here might be a good spot. Most of the vectrex ports are spot on for the cinematronics games.

I don't really know if the 3d imager works or not. When I hook it up to the game it spins the color wheel inside the mask and has a pretty good hum also. I tried playing the asteroids clone 3d game (I can't remember the name) and it looked cool, but I don't think it was 3d. Without the mask the graphics looked really shaky, but with the mask on it smoothed the vectors out. Does that sound like it is working properly?
Thanks for the information.

He has the 3d imager and everything is in mint, any system he ever he has the box and manuals and everything is mint shap, but i dont if he will actually give it to me, once he researches why i wont it he will probably keep it

I've got one locally which works fine, & has a good joystick that still centers. Pretty good physical condition, too.

I have 2 games for it, but forget which ones they are.

Come pick it all up in SoCal for $100. (Oops, wait - this isn't the FS forum. I meant, "come see it".) :)

That thing actually came out around the time of the Atari 2600. I got the 2600 and was stuck lusting after a Vectrex in the Sears or JC Penny Christmas catalog.

I finally got one a few months ago from Craigslist for $50, had to drive to the other side of Pensacola (Pace) to get it. But it was worth the hour long trip to finally get my hands on on one after 25+ years.

Sounds like its working. If you see a somewhat normal image with the googles on playing 3d minestorm, I would say it works.

I have a hard time seeing the 3d perspective of the googles too. I think it has something to do with 1 eye being dominant. I am sure someone here might know why.. Don't know if its related, but I can't play zaxxxon either.

Vectrex is very cool. I grew up on 2600 and intv. Could not afford any of the others when I was a kid. Some of my buddies had channel F, odyssey and coleco. Did not get a vectrex until like 1984..

The question is, why do you want it? If your looking to flip it, then I would say pass. If you want it to keep it, I would say be honest with your friend. Tell him what its worth and what you can afford. Worst case he says no. If you really don't care about the 3d imager, I would say sell off the extra stuff. Keep the game unit and the 2nd controller, and buy a multicart. You probably could end up with the game unit for $0.

vectrex came out in nov 1982. 2600 came out oct 1977. intv came out it 1980. Colecovision came out in aug 1982. If coleco or vectrex came out in 1980, they would have crushed the market. They came out just before the big crash in 1983-84.

Tell you what... I've got a N64 still in the box I will trade you for it, if he gives it to you... eh?

Not trying to thread jack. But wasn't there a Robotron : 2064 for the N64? Or was that a product of my imagination?

Anyone remember?

Vectrex is FUN
I have not bought this cart for mine
and I don't know if it was discussed
BUT I BELIEVE THERE IS A MULTI CART AVAILABLE!!!!
