Are these VGA inputs?

Need your help again guys.
In the link below there are pictures of my Tekken 3 gameboard. There are 2 connectors on the PCB that look like VGA inputs. Can I plug a computer monitor into either one of these inputs; if so, which one? Also, if I plug it in are there any switches to adjust, and do I need to unplug the original CRT?
Thanks guys,
Greg

Tekken 3 is standard res, so I would be surprised if VGA was coming out of those ports. One post I read where someone tried it, stated that they got a "horizontal frequency error" on their monitor, which tends to support that it's outputting standard res.

If you have an old multi-sync around, you could try that and see what happens.

I believe those are all collectively termed as JVS connectors, and the ones that look like "VGA connectors" (DE-15 connector), output 15 kHz (standard resolution), but with the option of a 740 x 480 interlaced mode (which is still 15 kHz, like a DVD played on a standard resolution TV).

If it is in fact what I think it is, I don't think you'll have any luck with hooking it to a PC monitor; though it should work with "presentation monitors" if you adapted the connector to it. It should also work with normal standard resolution arcade monitors, if you adapted the connector to it; though I don't think interlaced looks great with video games (doesn't look great with anything for that matter).

Yeah, I happened to have one on my testbench, and when plugged into my monitor, it says out of range. IIRC, I looked at the manual a while ago about this, and there's an option to set it to 31KHz through JVS options or something, but that's always been grayed out every time I've been in test mode... so I dunno if that's a hardware feature that's disabled, or if you need to do something to enable that.

Maybe the monitor needs to be plugged in when entering test mode...

Maybe you need a NEC Mutlisync presentation monitor? I know they made 22" I have 6 of the 37" version here.
Maybe you need to fire up the monitor and the game and plug it in hot to get it to auto sync?
Maybe a is something in your set up mode menu?

I did try that, but it didn't make a difference. I just looked in the manual though, and it says you have to use the JVS connectors instead of JAMMA to get those options, so it probably has to be powered and everything from that. But looking at that section of the manual, it says you can change from composite to seperate sync, but not from CGA to VGA... so I guess I was mistaken.
