Are these 2 craigslist ads for the same game?

My guess... the top one was from 8-15-10... dude sold it to the bottom guy who posted on 8-19 at a 500% increase in price.

Game looks interesting... I think I may check it out in MAME.

I could swear the button's on both control panel's are different. If you exclude that I may say, yes.

it's hard to tell.

how many of these games are converted into that exact cab? with the same eff'd up joysticks.
there is a sticker just above the coin door that makes me think it could be the
same cab.

A converted (and painted gray) Xybots to "in the hunt"?

Oh, I see, the $500 one was in storage for 6 years and recently serviced. No way that could possibly be the same game

I'm all for game flipping but wouldnt it be wise to say, I dunno, wait until the original ad is deleted or expired?

I would also be wise to buy a game that people wanted and not one that had been listed on CL for over a month with no takers. If offering it for $100 wasn't getting many or any offers then how in the hell is the guy trying to flip it gonna get $500?

Looks like the same machine to me. The guy that posted it for $500 at least posted a better description and posted pics of the game working. That particular board tends to go for $100 by itself.

2 xybots converted into in the hunts and both for sale in the bay area with the same century theater asset tag stuck to them... Not likely. Guy picked a poor game to try to flip..

who got the $100 games yesterday? I think 5 videos (Pacman, frogger, asteroids) also a few pins (whirlwind).

damn, I never saw that one

I emailed the guy to verify the $100 price tag. I asked him if it was $100 for everything. He replied "Sure! Just give me $3800 for the broken stuff"

So the guy had a sense of humor and I suspect the $100 was some random number he threw up there to get interest.

I LOL'd at his reply

well, by the time I called all the vids were gone as well as the whirlwind. Had zero interest in the rest..

Although it looks suspicious, the area below the monitor is different and the sides are different in color in the pics between the 2 ads. My initial thought is that if you were flipping a game would you the sides and the "neck" and do nothing different. The only other area I could say would be the area to check is the security bar area across the coin doors. The one has 2 bars and the other doesn't have good enough pics to see. If I honestly had to guess is that I'd say coincidence and someone needs to play the lottery.

What difference are you seeing below the monitor? Looks the same to me. And I can't see the sides in the $500 ads, but if I could I wouldn't read anything into colour diffrences in shades of grey in two different pictures taken (probably) with two different cameras under two different light conditions and processed by different software.

I emailed him and straight out asked him.

He said that he fixed it and serviced it. I bet he just wants $400 for moving it to his house...

That sticker looks like a Syufy games ID tag (former owner of Century Theatres). I'd even go as far as saying that the game looks familiar (came from a location I used to service about 15 years ago).

FWIW, those joysticks came with that kit. They are early Happ Supers if I recall right.

I think its the same game.

Matt

I should have qualified my post with "I've had a few beers but..."

Yes, IMHO it's a collectable game and created by the team that did Metal Slug.

It is surprised to hear that there are the 2 ads in the craiglist for the same game. But the prices of the both the games are different. I think people must have to care while buying the games.
