Are there good 19" CRT Monitors anywhere in the world?

There seems to be very mixed/poor reviews of the 8liners.com monitors but does anyone know of ANY good 19" monitor available anywhere in the world? I saw LG and Samsung had manufactured some, but I don't know if we ever had them in the US.

Are there any other manufacturers that make/made good monitors that might be in a warehouse somewhere?

If I were looking for new monitors I'd look for beat up GO7, 4900's and even 4600's and transplant new tubes into them before I bought anything thats been manufactured within the last 10 years. Your going to be way better off with proven known good tech then these cheaply built pieces of crap that have been on the market recently.

Now if your no good with tube swapping or soldering then I guess your stuck.

I agree with this. As an owner of 35 or so monitors. A Wells with a new tube looks better than a new out of the box Vision Pro.

So, there's one guy on ebay selling new tubes, is that the answer? or some other vendor? or try to find someone with NOS tubes from the 90's?

Monitors made in China SUCK. Theres no two ways about it. Bad deflection parts, bad power supply regulation. Hell, I wouldnt be surprised if they were giving off too much radiation when they are working properly. Must I remind you of the BRAND NEW monitors that are made in China that fail within MONTHS of being in operation??? BRAND NEW...

Yeah, I'm anti Chinese and I'm staying that way. Until they get their act together and put some quality into their products I will not change my mind. If your OK with sub standard junk in your machines then have at it.

I stand by my original suggestion and so does some one else from what I can see. An old Wells or GO7 is way better then this new crap.

Gota link? I'd like to check it out.

I bought three rebuilt tubes from some one a few years ago (www.ren something I think?). I put two one K4900 chassis and one on a GO7. AMAZING pictures from all three games.

The tubes cost me $165.00 plus shipping each. Well worth it in my eyes.

I agree wells garden are better but monitors made in china dont suck, its ridiculous to say that, most arcades in the world now are using chinese monitors and even your pc monitor which you think is made in usa because its ibm,hp,dell or other american brand is made in china and I dont think it has any problems.
Quit people blame china for everything, their products are mostly fine and they are improving every day and your homes are full of them if you dont already know that.

Ugh...

Do you run an arcade or a route? Well I do, 125+ arcades and about 3000 games. Some of those games have been out for 20+ years with original factory hardware in them and are still working just fine. Made in USA, Japan, Spain, Germany, Canada, Mexico and NOT China. Games in your house are not exposed to 16-18 hours a day of being powered up, Soda, popcorn, candy, heat, cold, dust, dirt the list goes on and on. Made in China might work in your house but it doesnt cut it in the commercial world.

Some of my new games dont make it to 2 weeks and they are already having some sort of failure either with the monitor, power supply, CPU whatever. Guess where all that junk is made?? Like the $8000.00 Terminator thats 3 months old, Its LCD panel is bad already. Guess where the panel was made. Go ahead, guess... Countless H2 Overdrives with bad LCD panels and controllers.

I pulled a PC out of a Namco Nirin the other day. Not only were ALL of the caps on the video card bad but over half of the caps on the mother board were also bad. The game is less then a year old! Electronic components made where? You guessed it... :)

BTW, the PC I'm using is made in Taiwan (I know same smell) but at least they take a small amount of pride in the stuff they make. My Wifes Toshiba laptop lasted 6 months then the mother board failed. Made where??? Hmmm????

And yeah I know that most (if not all) American branded stuff is actually built in China. That would explain all the Dell failures we were so blessed with over the last 5 years. I wish they would go back to Made in Mexico for pete's sake!

BTW, I'm well aware of the stuff thats in my house thats made in China. Guess who has to fix it all the time. ME!

I've got a new in box WG D7700, a NIB Sharp Image and a nearly new (new tube) 2001 WG 7200. I have 2 4900's and 2 burn free tubes to do swaps with. I also have 4 burn free 198x G07's. After those are used up, not sure what I'll do, but most likely just keep capping old monitors and swapping tubes as needed.

I haven't had a lot of luck with the 19" digital Wells monitors. Granted I've only tried to put them in MCR games (Spy Hunter and Tron). Nice selection of used older stuff though! Burn free GO7's make for great monitors.

News flash, they do suck.

Try considering my position. I run a huge route. Most (if not all) of our parts are made in China. They FAIL ALL THE TIME! What am I supposed to think? Oh, that part was a dud? No, I'm supposed to think that they suck.

Go to China, have a great time. :) Get back to me in a 100 years when China finally gets its act together.

Shame on their government for doing that. So the parts suck with a little bit of slobber and boogers then! LOL!
