HAS to be a common problem...

Out of 35+ machines I have had my hands on, only 1 had a neotech monitor in it and it was dead. Go figure.

i figured it was a flyback / power supply problem...

i read something about bipolar caps?

marlboroa!!!!
pics and an explanation would be great!!!

They're ok monitors. I've had several with just bad caps, one with a bad flyback, and one with a bad tube.

The small monitors like 13" and 14" generally just have bad caps.

I have two larger Neotecs, a 25" and a 27", on location. The 27" had a shorted transistor for the red color on the neckboard. The 25" just had a couple of bad electrolyics. Both of these are running fine and they are in a location where the games are left on 24/7. These are the common NT2500 and NT2700 series.

I don't have any experience with the NT500 model though.

I just had a Neotec NT-500 in the shop. I finally gave up on it and sent it off to ArcadeCup for repair. This monitor's manufacture date was only six years ago.....and it still had a repair tag on it from ten months ago. In my opinion, not a good sign.
