are motion games hard to work on?

The motion appears to be completely pneumatic. Pneumatic systems are pretty simple, they consist of a pump (compressor), a storage tank, and valves used to shift the air around. The only thing that would concern me is the possibility of the seals failing. Failing seals may be hard to replace with exact parts so you may have to do some research if that happens. However, I doubt failure is too common place, I have seen pneumatic riding toys from the 1950's still in operation.

The biggest issue you might have with that is the PCB, that's a Sega Model 2 system, the video boards tend to fail but you can get it repaired for about $75 -$100. That's a very uncommon game, very uncommon.

That's an awesome unique game that doesn't come around very often. I haven't played Rail Chase since it was new but it was a lot of fun.

Games with motion typical failure point are the motors. Finding a place that can rewired a motor press on new bearing, install new brushed and refresh the permanent magnets is important to keeping those games in good working order. If you can find new motors Keeping them in stock. that way you can replace motor that have issues while sending out the old ones to get rebuilt. You may want to search on the game your interested in the repair section of this forum or on the Web. Common issues typically will present themselves.
