Are most of your grails/wants from a single manufacturer??

I was thinking today and realized that most of the games I want are from a single manufacturer.....Atari. I have been trying to figure out why this is. Am I going to far in saying that Atari has produced some of the best arcade games ever made?? Could this be the reason to my obsession? Second in line to them would be Nintendo. These two manufacturers are numerous in my collection compared to others. Anyone else?

Nope ... by three biggest "wants" were Crazy Climber, Dragon's Lair, and Star Castle. Two of them I now have and one day (when I get over my fear of vector monitors) I will have a Star Castle as well.

Well, I guess technically two of those are from the same manufacturer ... so maybe you are on to something!

I'm kind of all over the place. Just landed one -- and X-Men -- but I'd still like to get a Doctor Who pin, Red Baron, Baby Pac-Man and Video Pinball. That eclectic enough?

All the cabs I want are all Midway... Currently have Mortal Kombat, Mortal Kombat 2, Carnevil, Terminator 2, Total Carnage, and on the look out for Mortal Kombat 3...

I too am afraid of vectors. I have an asteroids that will probably never play again unless I sell it or pay someone to fix it. I don't want to do either.

being in uk most machines are rarities, its just a case of a cab for sale and having the money and being in the right place at the right time.without intentionaly looking for machines or specific ones to be precise i have more atari than anything.2 missile command cocktails, asteroids, blasteroids and yesterday i picked up a upright centipede.

some are up and running and some need attention although its just minor.

What's the deal with vector monitors? Why are people afraid of them? This isn't the first time I've read that in these forums...

I think people have just read to many horror stories about them catching
on fire and such. They are also rare in that its not easy to get a new tube
or a new chassis at the drop of a hat like a raster.

I like them. They are actually simplier to work on than a raster monitor.

Nintendo,Capcom,Konami,and Midway are mine.

Your want list looks too much like mine...

I guess I could say a lot of the games I want are from Nintendo, but not exclusively. I want a Galaga, a Tron, a Street Fighter II in a Dynamo, or big blue cab, that way I can stick some of the CPS 2 games in it as well.

I guess I am all over the place. My most wanted games that I ended up getting were:

Donkey Kong - Nintendo
Berzerk - Stern
Sinistar - Williams
Tapper - Bally Midway

I do have a few Ataris but I refer to them as the standards.

Haves:

Tron
Major Havoc (tempest conversion)
Space Duel
Great Swordsman

Wants:
major havoc (dedicated)
black widow
asteroids
mario bros
d2k

I'm not afraid due to the horror stories. My thing is I tried to revive an Armor attack for 3 months and never got it working. After that I vowed not to ever buy another vector game unless it worked 100%. Fast forward to a month ago I now have another which of course does not work. It was one of my grails and the price was a steal so I went for it. Also a fellow member here said it would be an easy fix, turns out he was wrong and I now have to pay more than what I did for the game to have the deflection board fixed. For that price I could have bought a raster game that actually worked. I do agree that they are simpler/easier to work on physically.
