Are most of the members on here in a computer related field?

I work for computer repair shop here, doing just about everything from upgrading PC's to network and or security camera installs for home or business. Lately I have been working less for them and more for myself.

I have my own GIS based business, and have my own server farm in downtown Sacramento, Ca.

I stay way too busy, and hope to play more soon.... :(

I was able to play some of my games today! A first in about a month!

I work for the Geek Squad...but I do the home theater side of it. Not so much computer skills, but I can hang your tv on the wall blind folded!!!

getting ready to graduate with my associates degree in computer networking and thinking of getting my A+ and CCNA but not sure if their worth it, anyone have any opinions on this?

i was layed off a year ago from delivering pizzas when they shut down our shop permanently. the economy is tough and there havent been any opportunities for me since. i am currently working on an organic hobby farm and considering investing in a hot dog cart i could push around town. once vegetables start popping up i will have a roadside stand, as we are on the only road/bike trail to a popular state forest/campground.

the last computer class i took was in high school and we were using the old black and white all-in-one macintoshes that came out right after the IIgs. i remember being really excited i could make animated titles for my band's videos. early 1990s. right around the time i dropped out of high school.

i have been working on and fixing old electronics since i was a kid. most of the tape decks and VCRs people would give to the thrift store just needed a good head cleaning and were ready for resale.

everything i know about computers i taught myself. i have an aptitude for working on things, and people always are giving me stuff. i have piles of PCs and PC parts. i build PCs for friends and family, and fix their junk when they get viruses on it or whatever, but i have no idea what i am doing and always say dont bring your shit to me unless youre ready to consider it garbage, and then only pay me a donation if i do get it to work, because people give me all the parts and it doesnt cost me anything but time to fix.

Did someone say GIS? What's the nature of your business, if I may ask?
