I have been researching Galaxian prices if I decide to make a complete Galaxian/Galaga/Gaplus/Galaga '88/Galaga Arrangement row.

I setup a Craigslist alert for the whole east coast for the past few days for Galaxian cabinets, and all that pops up are 60-in-1 cabinets.

Is a Galaxian hard to find these days? I don't remember the last time I saw one on Craigslist.

What I am really interested in is a white upright with the white marquee.

They made a lot of these, and they come up for sale often enough and are usually not that much. I'd guess you need to give it more than a few days.

Exidy's price guide has it at $200-$350. Sounds about right. Seen it for less plenty of times, though.

So many around here get 60-in-1ed. :(

This is a switch - buy a 60 in 1 and convert it back to Galaxian. Or better still, you could wire it to play galaxian and also be a disguised 60 in 1 if you choose.

I've had a couple for sale, and it's tough to get $300. That being said, I can convert one to a 60 in 1 and get $600+. You do the math. I do feel bad converting, but when I get the cash in hand all the pain goes away ;.).

I have a nice galaxian cocktail than I doubt someone would spend $500-600 on it. But drop in a 60 and 1 and it will go easy $800.

If you do find something to 'convert back' into a Galaxian, for God's sake, get an original board.

I've never seen (heard) any emulation that does justice for the sounds from an original game. Crank that sucker up too.

Would never dream of using emulation! Besides boards are cheaper than a 60-in-1!

Amen on that.. Have had it for sale for 6 months..only a few nibbles. After repairing it and rebuilding the monitor, feels like I cant let it go for too much less..

I would GLADLY pay well over $300 for one in NICE condition. The reason why I have only ever owned one of these is due to the fact that they are usually in poor condition. I refurbished it as best I could, but replacement artwork was not available back then. If anyone has a "minty" example at a fair price, let me know...

Yeah, the artwork on these scratches off easy. It must have been printed differently or something, or maybe that vinyl 'grain' pattern they used or whatever makes the artwork come off so easily. You even have to be careful cleaning them that you don't take the art off. Really cool design though, I like those cabinets.

I have a Galaxian cocktail cabinet. (It was converted to Arkanoid R.O.D.).

Even though I have spare Galaxian control panels and boards I figure it might be best if I just multi-game and sell it. (But I might change my mind for a KLOVer).

I had a Galaxian cocktail and upright, paid $150 for each, both working and in good shape. It was very hard to sell them. I think I got my money back, but definitely didn't make anything on them.

i think Galaxian is too close to the more popular (and better) Galaga in gameplay... most casual buyers want Galaga and many collectors will choose it too when limited in space and money.

that being said, a lot seemed to have been converted or in very poor shape so despite the relatively low price they can be hard to come by.

you should get one of the early models that came stock with the 25" monitor; that's a true collector's piece.

Yah a member here just got a 25" Galaxian and is 60-in-1ing it. :(
