Ardac Change Machine

Nice score, that's cool as hell. I know there is a lot of guys here that have change machines in their gamerooms. Maybe some of them will chime in...

ugh.....Ardac. Throw that thing in the first dumpster you can find. They were the WORST change machines ever made!

They still give me nightmares and it's been well over 20 years since I touched one.

I think the tray for the dollar bill is cool, it doesn't take money to operate anymore. I can see why someone wouldn't like it maintenance wise. The bill acceptor is rediculious. But i just opened the acceptor up and ran 2 wires from the main connector to a microswitch that activates when you push the tray in. Works well. Can't complain I got it for FREE!!

The hopper belts for that thing were over $100 each ( takes 2 ) and no longer available.

Thats a cool looking one! how did you come across it?

I bought a Ms. Pacman and a single slot NeoGeo from an operator and I asked if he had any old change machines he would sell, told him i wanted to rig it so it would kick out tokens for my home arcade. He was going to scrap this old Ardac, gave it to me for free.

The hopper belts in this one look good. It's on easy street now, just chilling in my basement. And if it does die and i can't find parts, the scrap yard will gladly pay me for it. :p

Very similar to the model I have. I did the same thing. Pulled the bill stacker, reused a switch in the drawer to trip the a 'test vend', and use it as a fun way to dispense quarters in the game room. Oddly enough....mine was free as well :D

I love mine!
