So i have a loud static noise coming out of the speakers in my Arctic, in attract mode, you can hear the computer going through it's cycles, checked all grounds and swapped audio baords from another arctic, no help, checked the speakers, they look good, unplugged the light, no help, dont know what else to try, wierd thing is when i unplug the speaker out cable from the computer itself, if i touch the cable end with my hand, it is loud and picks up the touching of my skin? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Mike

Ok, I'm new at this, i found out if the cable is going through the audio board, any charge even from me will make the sound touching my skin, so sorry if that was pure newbie. But i still need some help finding what is causing the interference in the speakers. Anyone? Thanks Mike

Probably the speaker wire is picking up "noise" from something it is routed near, maybe a florescent light or some other noise source.

My personal PiU did something similar when I first got it. It was a broken leg on one of the amplifier ICs. Probably worth your time to crack open the amp box and reflow some joints.

I did the light check, but still had the problem, I also swapped the audio pcb from another arctic and have the same problem, i will still give resoldering it a shot. Thanks Mike

Also, there is a little transformer near the audio amp pcb, could that be the problem? Thanks Mike

try a different speaker, it is simple, easy, and cheap. I doubt it is the speaker but worth a try.

It doesn't happen often but it has happened, speakers do go bad.

Tried the speaker, not the problem, could it be coming from the computer itself, possibly the power supply? Thanks
