Hi everyone,
My Dad has an Arctic Thunder by Midway that he is looking to get going again after many year. It is the standard model with the 27" monitor. It stopped being used as the computer developed a no boot up issue. He started by changing the keep-alive battery and reseated all of the boards and cleaned the connections but there were still no signs of life. The cooling fans also were not turning on as well during testing.
In further checking he discovered a single cap that was getting physically hot to the touch and replaced it, however it made no difference and the new cap also did the same (this was done long ago and the paper was lost with which cap he replaced).
The data from the board sets are as follows:
Motherboard BCM: GT694VP
VT82C694X- North Bridge
V82C686A - South Bridge
IDE controller chipset ATA-5 or ATA- 66
VIA Pro 133A
We were wondering if anyone here happens to have a schematic for the computer, as well as a possible location of where to find a cap kit for it? Is this something that may have a kit or would individual caps need to be sourced? We both have search through this forum as well as many other places on the internet and turned up very little information
