Got the control panel done!

I created the overlay and installed it today. I used a 3D effect on it. I think it came out pretty good. I do see where I could improve it though.

Special thanks go to RunnerPack from Planet Virtual Boy for his Virtual Boy True Type Font.

I need to trim down the wood piece in the back now that I have the plexi installed, cause now it doesn't fit. :p

This is going to be badass once its complete. When are you building mine? :D

LOL Thanks! I have plenty of other projects to complete first! ;)

That looks really great!

I have been sticking with only red and black for colors, except for the select and start buttons which are yellow. Oh yah and the side L and R buttons that are white. What do you guys I should use for the select and start buttons? The playchoice 10 uses red and black buttons, I was thinking maybe black for the select and start buttons. I wish someone made light grey buttons.

Kick ass! Nice work!

Thanks I really appreciate it!

Actually I just swapped the yellow buttons for white, didn't like it, then put in reds, so the whole panel is just red and black. I don't have any black buttons right now except for the ones in the other cabinet I am working on.

Here is the panel with all red buttons, I think it looks best this way:

I think I will order 2 black buttons for the side L and R buttons.

Have you thought about powder coating (Or just paint) the slider bracket and use a spring actuated type pull knob with some holes inside that slider (that you can't see) that you can easily adjust the height and not worry about over tightening the knob-kind of like how car seats work.

That would look good.

I will once I have this thing finished, and also on the Ben Heck forums too.

looks like a perfect fit :D

The slider is painted, but it is painted with hammered steel paint. I am not 100% sure what color I want it to be. I doubt I will be doing one of those spring loaded pins like you described, I don't want to have to drill all those holes! :D

i have to admit: that thing looks amazing!!!

I REALLY appreciate the comments!

I trimmed the back piece so now it fits properly:

Yeah, that button scheme looks really good. I can't wait to see how the marquee turns out... and then yeah, if you could do something with the slider bar that'd be awesome... the gray metal just looks a little out of place.

What do you think -- it could be either red, black or graphite grey. I am leaning against black, since it would make the cabinet too dull.
