The Arcadeshop page is showing a vertical update with Gorf and Carnival added along with a easier DK2. I have not been able to get the update via the software update or download so if anyone is having any luck let me know. I do have an email into Steven @ the AS.

Still waiting for Qbert and some more horizontals but I am excited about Gorf.

...about time. Steve's been promising this update for 2 months. It wasn't up earlier today...so I am guessing he's in the process of putting it up.

EASIER D2K!?!?!?!?!??!

What does that mean? Don't tell me he updated the chips!!

I just tried to download the software and it's still the old menusystem with update 18-46 not 19-48...and it seems from his notes that the LED output has been fixed...

Arcadeshop version was behind a bit and is updating so that it matches the kit. The "easier" version is just the latest version that has the relaxed spark timing on the Refinery.

Too bad the new update is still not available...even though it's advertised as so.

>argh<

The UPDATE button from within MENUSYS is working and will update the software as of this morning...

I did get the update installed. Gorf has voice which is very cool. Couple of observations..

1. Gorf does not seem to save high scores
2. The video on Gorf is too large. I had to adjust the Hoz Size and Hoz Pos on the monitor to see the top and bottom for Gorf but now all the other games have too much space.

3. Carnival seems to work well.

Still fun to play Gorf and I am sure that there will be an update sometime soon to address the other issues.

Has anyone else experienced these issues on their arcadeshop multipcbs?

Phoenix saves high scores until you shut off the machine then they erase
Digdug will not remember the extra man settings. we tried to change the extra men rewards to TG settings at my place but they will not stick.

Has anyone been able to load a diff version of tetris other than the cocktail version?. damn it is annoying to look at on an upright galaga cab.

Well, I'm not all that fond of the update. Gorf looks like trash. To tall as noted earlier. Mine even had some stuck pixels (vertical line in the upper left hand corner) that turned on about 1/2 way through the first board.

Also, now Galaxian Part X actually plays standard Galaxian???

I tried to program the board again. This time just Galaxian Part X. The menu displays. Credit up ad hit P1 and the screen goes black and you are greeted by a warbling tone!!! Refreshed my ROMs and tried again. Same thing. Then I programmed Galaxian and Galaxian Part X. Both show up in the menu but, you guessed it, both play standard Galaxian.

I know people like this board but to me is sucks so badly that it literally draws the air out of the room.

For me the RED in GORF is jacked... the voice crackles.

Carnival plays nice.

Both don't seem to save high score.

ALSO! The L.E.D. sinks are wired wrong. They blink my L.E.D. start lights as supposed to, but instead of the LED that gets pressed staying on, it goes off! So press 1 player game and 2 player button stays lit (BACKWARDS!).

Finally, it now progresses through the attract until it comes to Galaxian...where it actually CREDITS MY MACHINE...plays one game...then sits in Galaxian attract forever.

I am going to simply disable Galaxian and Galaxian X.

ON THE PLUS SIDE...

Surprisingly all my prior high scores were kept!

Yeah, same here. The red looks like it sort of strobes???

Did not pay a lot of attention to the demo screens and I don't have LEDs. Will say this, however, I had the sound for the demo screens turned OFF in the setup. Left the game to run a bit last night while I worked on a PC problem. Guess what, something had sounds!! I can not recall which game. I will have to let it run next time I'm down here so I can catch it.

I thought this is supposed to be the better board for multigames. It seems like its riddled with problems and has more wrong with it then the cheaper 90.00 48n1 pcb.I wonder why the quality is so low with the games that are allowed to be downloaded.Arn't they supposed to be direct from mame or do I have it all wrong.I've thought about geting one but not untill the problems are fixed.Even with all the problems do you guys still feel its worth the dough.....Dave

Let yours run...come back...is it stuck in GALAXIAN?

Nope. Mine does not appear to be doing that. Could be the games and the order you programmed them. At this point, who knows.

Well, lets just say that mine has spent more time on a shelf than in a game. I messed with it for a while then left my old 39-1 in the cab.

The only reason I kept it was I did like the horizontal games. Robotron, Mario Bros, Joust, Moon Patrol, etc. When the weather breaks and I can do up a nice cab I plan on making a Horiz JAMMA can I can leave it in.

I like my multigame boards. High Scores work for most games and with initials. Sounds tend to be better than the 48-in-1 counterpart. Upgrading keeps your high scores too (I found out this time). I do miss some of the games off my 48-in-1 (Juno First being one)...

Also, if you have a Trackball in your cab, the AS board has more selections of TB games (Centipede, Millipede, Crystal Castles, Missile Command (vertical...plays fine!), Liberator and GridLee...plus the two spinner games Arkanoid and Super Breakout compared to only Centipede, Millipede, Arkanoid & Super Breakout on the 60-in-1 board.

For the price...hard to beat the Asian boards right now though.

Thats what I thought.I allready have a dedicated Millipede and Missile command which are the only trackball games I can think of that I like so that wouldnt really be a buying point for me.But you guys just confirmed what I was thinking that the 48n1,60n1,etc are a better buy. I mean what good is being able to upgrade new games if the new games have a bunch of problems and on top of that all the problems in the first bunch of games havnt been fixed yet.Just my 2cents.

Let yours run...come back...is it stuck in GALAXIAN?

So, I let it run. After a bit, all of the sudden, it starts playing sounds in a demo screen. Guess the game...Galaxian. It has been running for a few more hours..stuck in Galaxian. Thank God it was not with the sounds.

Hit the joystick and it comes out of it.

At least I can play all the Galaga hacks still
