Arcadeshop boards selling cheap.. copies/knockoffs?

Just got my board today and it doesnt look like the board on the website.

This board is a different color and has different color components

I will post pics in a little while.

Hope it works and I dont have problems!!

arcadeshop pix is the original board that came out in 2005 the newer ones are a bit lighter in color

I've got one from last year (direct from AS) and it doesn't look anything like the pic - so probably nothing to worry about

Obviously everyone agrees that $375 is way out of line for AS's Programmable PCB. Obviously a few have found the source and have been ordering these at a discounted price. Not sure this totally matters if it's the same PCB at a reduced price (close to $150 cheaper). My only concern would be D2K. Has anyone who bought a PCB from anyone other than AS (or bought a board secondhand from someone who bought from AS) been able to purchase D2K.

Bryan - it is genuine - its exactly the same as the one I got direct from AS.

Exactly the same? (Like with the tan capacitor added on?)

The reason I ask is that those are definitely knock-offs of the Arcadeshop design. Different components loaded (including using the cheaper audio-amp option that was designed in) and different PCB.

uh ohh

do we have pics showing differences of how to tell

I am about 99% sure neither of my AS boards have the ceramic capacitor at the bottom of the pic there...

Clay...any word on when a new update will be available. Steve's been saying "about a month" for over 2 months now (as usual).

Rest assured, its a knock off.

Hey Steven,

Any plans on lowering your price to compete with this knock-off? It's been at least 3 years at it's current price... the economy being what it is and all...

...and perhaps you could expand a little as to when we full asking price paying customers can expect an update (please...no mentions of "about a month").
