Scrimping and scrounging my pennies to get the ArcadeSD board from Phoenixarcade.com ASAP.

Who here has one, and do you like it? Do you run it vertical or horizontal?

I have a small homemade Jamma cab with a 60 in 1 right now that I'm thinking of adding a MikesArcade.com double jamma board and running both.

I'm also thinking about hacking to jamma adding one of these:

I would maybe even think about making a way to rotate the ENTIRE cab with some sort of contraption.

And yes I know about the sticks in that panel but I like the look of it and it would fit perfectly on top of the game when not in use. This is for a friend's daughter as that's who I made the game for.

Any thoughts?

I own two. They're in identical cabs, one with horizontal 19" monitor, one with vertical 19" monitor.

Both have a single 49 way joystick and 3 mirrorred fire buttons:

With an additional 2 lighted LED (LiCon/Cherry) start buttons that flash.

brent if it helps I can shoot back that $5.25 in quarters you left in my tron 4 years ago when you were holding it for me, after I purchased it from ctozzi. :)

I think it's a great board. I also run it vertical and still have the ArcadeShop in my MultiWilliams cab. Most of the game updates to date have been vertical. Once some more horizontal games get added I will replace my ArcadeShop board.

run it vertical only and think it's one of the best things I own.

I have one and currently I have it in a JAMMA'd Playchoice 10CT. Someone else gutted it not me...

If more Nintendo Horz games were released for this or an NES Emu, I'd be stoked!

I just bought one last week. Don't have a cab yet, but it's coming soon (with a NOS never used 19" CRT, which I saw in person today -- very excited to have that in 2013).

I will be running it vertically. CP will have 4way stick, 3 buttons and trakball.

I've played 60-in1 before, as well as the older Arcadeshop board, and I think Clay's boards are way better than the 60-in-1 even though it's missing a few games (i.e. Bombjack, Gyruss... really hope they're added to ArcadeSD eventually). 60-in-1 is way cheaper, but you tend to get what you pay for.

Once I get my JAMMA to DK adapter, I'll revisit the idea of investing in one. It's a pretty awesome PCB and worth every penny when you consider the games it can run and the accuracy compared to the Chinese multiboards.

I own one and I love it. I put it in a Ms. PacMan/Galaga Class of 1981 upright and it is perfect! (vertical)

I replaced the control panel with one that had a Joy/3buttons/Trackball and it is absolutely the life of the party when we have friends over. I kept the original board and CP so I can swap it back out if I ever want to do something different.

i have one and plan to run it vertical, but I need to put together a power supply and then I'll have all the pieces I need except a good harness.
the cab is going to need a lot of work before it all goes in but I plan to at least have all the guts running before it goes in the cab.

I have a question, in the ArcadeSD manual, it mentions that pins E-F and 5-6 are 'not required', its the pins for -5v and 12v. The wording is a bit vague; does it means I can leave them connected? I'm not too hot on doing mods to a jamma harness (except for extra buttons).

Has anyone tried running one on a fully populated, regular, harness?

It's covered it the large ArcadeSD thread but you do not want them connected or it will cause issues with the board.

I didn't read the post in the big thread... but if you look at the pin on the edge connector of the arcadeSD for 12v.... The trace doesn't go anywhere... it literally runs for about 1/8 of an inch and then stops and it not connected to anything. I don't see how it could affect the board.

Mine is connected (since I popped it into a machine with an existing Jamma harness) and I have no problems.

Don't know about the 5v though.

Also I have it... and I love it. I run it vertical with a 49 way and a trackball on the arcadeshop control panel.

Actually, the -5 (E and 5) and the +12 (F and 6) are no problem to keep connected. They are connected in 5 ArcadeSD setups that I own or have set up for others, all with no problems.

It's the pins at 25 and 26 that can cause problems if left connected... I believe that they are used to run testing/diagnostics at the production level, and can cause problems if left connected. That being said, most jamma harnesses don't have anything connected to 25/26 anyway.
