I thought it would be interesting to see what control panel configurations people are using to run the new ArcadeSD board with.

Has anyone done an inventory of the controls needed for each game? I'm curious if I only install 2 buttons, how many 3 button games are there?

The only JAMMA cab I own has an Ikari Warriors CP on it, so that's where my ArcadeSD is installed.

As it also has a vertical monitor, my game list is limited to the vertical titles.

The sticks are also 8-way, so I further have turned off all of the Pac-type games which don't work well without a 4-way stick.

I also have turned off all the game's I've never heard of, or are clones/bootlegs.

So, the only one remaining that I had to disable due to insufficient buttonage was Missile Command. Actually, although I have enough independent buttons on the CP (4, 2 for each of 2 players), ArcadeSD configuration won't allow me to re-assign one of the PL2 buttons to the right base in Missile Command.

If you've got a horizontal monitor, I'm sure Defender/Stargate will need more than 2 buttons...

I bought the custom overlay Rich does that looks like a Centipede overlay but has 4 red dot's across it..looks pretty decent with a trackball on the right centered in a red spot and a 4 way stick on the far left red dot and a couple control buttons in the middle.

I was thinking about not running 3 buttons... and staying with just 2.........is that a bad idea? I thought we dicussed gunsmoke was the only 3 button game???

AFAIK, Gunsmoke is not currently supported on the ArcadeSD.

On the current game list, the only ones with more than 2 buttons I see are: Missile Command (3), Defender (5) and Stargate (5).

The wildcard is future additions. For example, IF more Konami games are added, and Super Basketball is among them... it uses 3 buttons.
