I recently inherited a Polaroid SX-70 OneStep and I've fallen in love with the thing—it's spun into a new hobby of its own!
Thought I'd share some game room pics I took :)

These are all double-exposed on one film and shot with color filters over the flashbulbs for some fun "glitchy" effects. See if you can make out the two different exposures.

Anyone have a Polaroid in the day?

I had one, but wasn't happy with how small the pics were. Being able to see it immediately was amazing, BitD. Also they never seemed to be fully in focus. Prompted me to spend some real money and get a proper 35mm camera.

Alex, "What are two things girlfriends do not like?"

I have never had a polaroid, can you even still get film for it?
It's an interesting story! The original company discontinued it in 2009 and shut down soon after, but a set of hobbyists bought up the last remaining factory equipment in the Netherlands.
They spent years reverse engineering the film, started producing it again, and finally this March bought the Polaroid name.

I had the while "Land Camera". It worked pretty well, but the film was expensive for a kid.

I ended up shooting professionally using Minolta 7000i gear, and then switched over to Canon when Minolta discontinued their pro support plan (which allowed me to borrow some really cool lenses).

Got me a Polaroid 1000 as a kid in the early/mid 80's. Upgraded it with the electronic flash unit. I loved that thing, still have it :)
I even still have the pics I took from the TV to document my River Raid highscore in order to get a patch from Activision. Never sent them away, though :(

Bought my wife a Polaroid Snap Touch.
Great camera, but the battery no longer holds a charge and none are available that I can find, even Batteries+ was stumped.
I called Polaroid's customer service and they said they do not sell replacement batteries. poop.
I think it is because it is 2 batteries tied together, with a small inverter board, maybe something to do with it having both a printer and a camera?
I'm sure someone here could probably build one. If so, Id be willing to pay

If you really like it and you are willing, put two of these in series and wire it to your connector and I think it will work.

I tracked this back from this translated post (from Korean to English)

Missed opportunity for "Asteroids and Polaroids"

Also I remember trying to track down some film right after Polaroid went under. It was either super expensive or it was old stock that didn't work, or both. Limited life on that stuff
