So, I'm going to be in San Diego a couple of weeks for training. The online databases I've seen tend to be unreliable, so I'm querying you living KLOV users...

Any good arcades in the SD area with classic video games and/or pinball machines?

Ummm yeah. If you find any, please let me know. :) Nickel City might be your best bet: http://nickelcitysandiego.com/ Though for the record I have not been there in years and do not know what they currently have, they have had various classics in the past. I live in North County (San Marcos) and you would be welcome to stop by, I'm only available weekends though as I work out of town during the week. My VAPs is up to date for an idea of my (limited) selection.

Oops, I lied, I see I still need to add my Stargate cabaret.

Yep. There is a Nickel city about 1/2 mile from my home here in Rancho Bernardo. I haven't been in a year or so, but I remember they had a nice 3 player Rampart, a couple Pacs. Galaga, Karate Champ, and a few other classics. Most of the space was dedicated to carnival type games, redemption, some racing game...the standard stuff.

There is also a Dave and Busters down off the 8. They have all new games of course; the only classics are the new style 1/2 Galaga 1/2 pacman cabinets, and a horizontal multi fighter with some Street Fighters and a bunch of other games.

I was at a restaraunt in Poway called Hamburger factory last weekend. They had a couple games in the corner including an old Pengo cabinet with some board in it that had 3 classics.

Not much here...we did have Flynns for a few days!

There is an arcade at Belmont Park. No clue if there are any classics. I know I've seen a few bowling alley's on the Pinball location lists, but again not sure if they have classic vids

Back in the day when they had 2 arcades it was awesome. Lots of classics, pinballs, and fighters. But I was there last year and it was just all redemption, drivers, shooters.

I will be down in Point Loma for a couple weeks in July after a week at Disneyland. It sounds like I may need to check a few places out. The only thing close to an arcade that I went to when I was down last time 2 years ago was the Corvette Diner. All new stuff but it had a lot of games. Diner was cool too. I happened to be there on a day they were having a car show. I had a blast playing the new Sea Wolf:

Sav, are you near Legoland? I think it is around there somewhere. I am pretty sure I will be making a run up to it at some point while I am down there.

I'm a little over an hour north of San Diego...Not an arcade per se, but I finally have all my games fully working and looking pretty good. 27 games at the moment with 4 still on the way... If you're willing to drive up, lmk and I'll check with the wife if I can host a game night. What dates are you going to be out here? If you do make it up here...Kidnap JeffC while you're down there and bring him along!
