My wife called for me last night as I was detailing up my Gorf machine saying 'Hey...you gotta come see this!'. She is a huge fan of that new show 'The Mentalist'...which even though I don't care for TV these days is a pretty cool show that reminds me of a spin off of Columbo. Anyways...did anyone out there see it??? The detectives were investigating a guy that was a 'repairman' for a modern arcade. They shot scenes throughout the arcade which showed fairly modern games but there were a few scenes where they interviewed the repairman in his actual repairshop. LOL....I saw an Asteroids, a Ms. Pac Man with the back door off....what looked like an old Williams EM shooter....too funny! At one point the guy was actually soldering (almost looked like a coin mech or weird chassis) and he had this super cheap looking iron and what appeared to be a giant spool of plumbers solder.

I always love to see the interpretation on TV of what most of us enjoy as a hobby. And interesting as well to see how arcade games always seem to make great props...probably a bunch of set guys in their 40's saying "You just HAVE to put an Asteroids machine in the scene"...LOL...

Did anyone catch the episode last night?

I've tried watching the show once or twice, but wasn't impressed. The whole 'crime of the week' format is way overdone on TV.

Anyways, when the show first started last year, there was an article in TV Guide. It had the cast standing in a room with a few classic arcade games. The star of the show was playing a Pacman.
