I really like the projector idea in the Game room! Do you or anyone have any ideas were to get a good projector or a good brand? I checked Ebay but they have like 300 pages full of different kinds of projectors??? Thanks if anyone can help?

I use a fairly old Benq 720p DLP projector. I'm guessing the bulb is near the second half of its life. Once that goes out, it's like $200 for a replacement bulb. At that point, it's almost better just to buy a new projector. Almost like inkjet printers and ink. But it works for me and my brother actually gave it to me, so I can't complain. I may just upgrade once the bulb goes out.

You can get a decent 720p one for $400-500. If you want to go big time 1080p theater quality, you're looking to spend well over a grand. Just search slickdeals or bensbargains for recent deals on projectors. I'd avoid CL and ebay to be honest. You never know how much life is left on the bulb or if it's really "new." But that's just me being overly cautious.

Thanks eseyo1 for the info!I think buying a new one like you said is my best bet since I really don't want to spend an extra $200 for a new bulb on an old projector, makes sence to get a new one but that means I have to figure out where to put this now LOL!

i have three proxima dp6810s. New lamps are 100-150,

but i got all three projectors for a total of under $200, cleaned and put togther twwo nice ones and have a another working unit less lamp for parts.

I have a Benq W500 720p projector for 3 years now and I use it a lot, I'm just over half the bulb life. so the bulbs do last quite a long time. $200 is a decent price for a replacement bulb. many other projectors are much more expensive to replace a bulb.

like cadillac man said a decent 1080p you're looking at $1000
