Arcade Stools - Do You Have Them In Your Home Arcade?

I really forgot I needed stools in my arcade until I went to a fellow collectors house and played a game sitting on a stool and it took me back to the marathon sessions from my youth...too funny.

So...I had thought about picking up some stools for quite some time...and thought about the ever present/classic black and chrome stools I remember in the arcades way back when. However, whenever I visit this site I see so much creativity it inspired me to create something a little more 'custom/different'. Seeing ceiling graphics down the stairway, awesome neon lights, integrated bars with the arcade space....on and on. So I purchased some cheap stools, painted them and poured a 2 part epoxy finish over my arcade graphic. I was careful to choose a base paper for the logo that 'glowed' under the blacks lights. Am I crazy for spending time on making custom stools when I should be restoring games??? Oh well....at least they look really cool under the black lights! And...us old guys some times like to sit down...;)

You are not crazy. Not at all!
There is another guy on here who owns all of the pacman cabinets, and each cabinet has a matching stool!

I have a few stools I have acquired that are intended for makeovers, but it will be awhile before I get around to it.

I was lazy. I just bought some stools from Target and haven't done anything with them. They are the nice padded ones with the swivel tops, so they are real comfortable to sit on....

i was raised when these games were out in the wild, and we didnt need no steenking stools. Stools are for the old maids playing slots at casinos. The games i took pics of today in md had stools in front of them- i slid them as loudly and annoyingly away as i could. Stools. Pffft. :)

just to clarify my reply, i was just answering the question in the title, not knocking alan's creativity. I actually like alan's stool. Wait that didn't sound right. LOL

Very nice! I like the glow effect from the black light. So since they aren't padded do you use some sort of stool softener?

I just had a stool in my arcade this morning. The wife found it and I blamed it on the cat. The dog snickered.

Just jumping on the complimentary crew, those look sweet, sir!

i have a dozen floating around in there, one set of 4 and a couple sets of 3 that I picked up at the flea market at different times for $10-$15 per set, and another set of 4 I got with the bar. I keep them scattered around the room and they get used quite a bit
