Since I know some of you have names for your gamerooms - anyone ever make a sign, or get a sign made with your arcade name? Got a pic?

I was screwing around for a few minutes in Photoshop and I think I accidentally made a cool design I like, just need some kind of good font for the name and see what happens.

A signpainter friend of mine made this sign for me; which I put on the small wall ledge as you're going down my basement steps. He used reflective-like material on it so it kind of glows when the light hits it just right. I kept it simple by just having him make it "The Arcade". Its made out of plexi.

I'm not sure how I'm going to do the sign yet, but here's my design. I'm considering a combination neon/printed on plexi, or maybe a giant mosaic, or maybe just a backlit translite. Any other ideas out there?

Backlit translight, light box. That's the only way for that one.

Go ghetto, or go home!

Actually, this REALLY pops in person, but I can't get a good shot of it for some reason. I'm actually going to expand it out so it says "Jeff and Tami's Arcade" or maybe "Tyson's Arcade" to name it after a little boy. I just took some metal lettering from a craft shop and painted them neon colors with spray paint. Combined with the blue and black lights in my arcade, the lettering looks good.

I would like to design something less lame with a translite however. For now this works and people actually do comment on it (it really does pop, I promise).

Actually this reminds me of something you'd see at the Jersey shore! Now you just need some wood grain paneling and some 1985 redemption prizes to complete the look!

Keep em coming!! :)

I made the one under the black light and had Rich at 'This Old Game' make the other one (great job by Rich!)....

Not really a sign but I had a local artist paint a mural in the entrance area of my arcade.

Here is my sign, the photoshop document and the printed out version in the gameroom. I would still like to get it more professionally done, or backlit would be even better at some point.

Nice!! Keep em coming! Gotta be more out there.

By the way that mural kinda reminds me of a BBS game I used to play a while ago called Tradewars..not sure why but that was the first thing I thought of.

I love that medieval theme, it's not something you see very often (or at all?) with arcades.
Where did you get all those props to put on the shelf?

Thanks me too. I've seen a few and the Golf'n'Stuff in Tucson is(was) medieval feeling. Anyway
the props I've had for awhile so I since I had them I went with it. I've also done a "Tokens Only"
in the same theme you can barley see it here in this photo that is now lit with electric
candles. I've also attached a better pic of the main sign w/ the lights on so you can see it.

Ivan if you are still looking for medieval themed decor, let me know. Castle Park amusement park still has some stuff on the walls, but it doesn't fit in anymore. I could see if I could score you some stuff.

I guess it would depend on what was there. Can you enlighten me a bit?

I was there last weekend and I remember seeing shields painted with crests, and crossed swords, and some banners hanging from elongated bugles, stuff like that. I wasn't looking specifically for this stuff so there could be more there.
